The Alex Zanardi Cup
Introduced in August 2005, the Alex Zanardi Cup will be presented each season
to the highest scoring driver at season end who has not scored a podium finish
during the course fo the season.
All drivers in the premier 67FV division of The Regulars will start as eligible Zanardi Cuppers but their names will be dropped from the Zanardi Cup standings as they score podium finishes.
Alex Zanardi is a world class F1 driver and Champ car champion who lost his legs tragically in a crash.
Nothing can keep Alex Zanardi down, for within a couple of years he was walking and back racing again.
This award is to encourage those long suffering souls at the back of the GPL grid who don't get to taste the champagne, yet they plug away each race in true journeyman fashion.
